What is a video match, exactly?
A video match is the shortest possible path between “I feel like talking to someone” and actually talking to someone. You don’t build a profile, pick a photo or send a request. You press a button, and a live one-on-one video call opens with a person you have never met. People also call it a random video match, a 1v1 video match, a videomatch (all one word) or just a match chat — it is the same idea.
On Flingster Match the whole site is built around that moment. Everything else — voice and text modes, the skip button, report and block — exists to make the next match better than the last one.
Videomatch chat: starting with words
A videomatch chat doesn’t have to begin on camera. Pick Text and you are matched into a private one-on-one message thread instead — the lowest-pressure way to find out whether you get along. When the conversation is going well, switching to a call is one step away. Some people use it the other way round: a quick video match first, then a match chat to keep talking.
What happens on a video match call
A video match call is the video version: you’re matched, and a one-on-one call opens straight away. Either of you can end it with the skip button. During the call you can type messages too, and a translate button next to each message helps when you don’t share a language. For more on the call itself, read live video call on Flingster Match.
Who will I match with?
Someone random, and we mean that. Flingster Match doesn’t have a gender, age or country filter, so we won’t pretend you can choose. In practice, a lot of the people you’ll match with are women — from Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and beyond — and every match is a new face. Not sharing a language isn’t a dealbreaker: messages in a call can be translated with one tap.
If you’re hoping for a video match with girls specifically, the honest answer is: you’ll meet many, but it isn’t guaranteed on every tap. When a match isn’t what you were looking for, skipping takes a second.
Video match vs chat rooms vs dating apps
Three ways to meet someone online, three very different experiences:
| Video match | Chat room | Dating app | |
|---|---|---|---|
| First contact | Seconds | When someone notices you | After a mutual swipe |
| Profile needed | No | Usually a nickname | Yes, photos + bio |
| Conversation | One-on-one, live | Group, mostly text | One-on-one, text first |
| If it’s not working | Tap next | Find another room | Unmatch and wait |
A video match skips the part of online dating most people dislike — the waiting. You learn more about someone in thirty seconds of conversation than from a profile, and nobody is left on read.
Voice match and text match
Same instant pairing, different comfort levels. Start with whichever feels right today.
Video match
Face to face, one-on-one. The fastest way to know if you click.
Voice match
Same instant pairing, audio only. Camera never turns on.
Text match
A private one-on-one thread. The lowest-pressure start.
A video match without an app
There is no Flingster Match app to install. The site runs in your phone or computer browser, asks for camera access only when you start a video match, and leaves nothing behind on your home screen. That also means no app store account, no update prompts and no storage used.
What a video match costs
Your first matches are free, so you can see how it feels before spending anything. After that, video and voice calls are billed per minute from coins you top up yourself — no subscription renewing in the background. The details are in Is Flingster Match free?

Video match FAQ
What is a video match?
A video match is a one-on-one video call with someone you are paired with at random. Instead of browsing profiles, you tap start and the site connects you with one person who is also looking to chat.
Is videomatch the same as a video match?
Yes. Videomatch, video match, match chat and videomatch chat are different ways of writing the same thing: being paired one-on-one with someone new, by video, voice or text.
What is a video match call?
It is the one-on-one video call that opens as soon as you are matched. No request to send and nothing to wait for — you are face to face within seconds, and you can skip to the next call whenever you want.
Can I choose who I match with?
Not on Flingster Match. There is no gender, age or country filter — matching is random by design. You can skip any match instantly and get the next one.
Is a 1v1 video match a group call?
No. A 1v1 video match is one-on-one: no rooms, no group calls, no audience. Recording or screenshotting another person is against the rules.
Is there a video match app?
You don’t need one. Flingster Match runs in the browser on phones and computers, so a video match starts right from the web page.
How much does a video match cost?
Your first matches are free. After that, video and voice calls are billed per minute from a coin balance you control, and the balance is shown during the call.
